Who is Voice Weavers a cappella choir?

Voice Weavers

Voice Weavers is a community choir of men and women of all ages and backgrounds based in Tweed Heads and Coolangatta. We sing in the aCappella style from a diverse repertoire of easily accessible music.

new Music director wanted

Yes, thats right, Voice Weavers needs a new Music Director.  Hayden has decided to follow his heart and is moving to WA with his fiancée.

Voice Weavers is a mixed voice a Cappella choir located on the southern Gold Coast, growing in size with currently some 50 members of all ages. We enjoy an extensive repertoire with a large variety in musical and arrangement styles. Part of what makes Voice Weavers unique is our plan to travel internationally every three years to continue on the success of the tours we have already taken to China, Vietnam, Russia and our tour to Japan in April 2019.  However, the pandemic has put a hold on that goal for the time being.

We would like to talk to any interested in becoming Music Director to work out terms and conditions or an honorarium!  We have an Assistant Director who would be happy to help a new Director settle into the current repertoire.

Please contact the President, June Rogan (president@voiceweavers.com.au) for further information and to arrange attendance at a rehearsal to get an idea how the choir currently operates.

Voice Weavers next EVENT

Voice Weavers would like to wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and holiday season with our last virtual choir video, Jingle Bells.  We completed 11 virtual choir videos in 8 months and Zoomed once a week to keep our choir engaged and connected.  We are now looking forward to recommencing live rehearsals in February, all things going well, and you never know, there is some interest in continuing the virtual videos!

How does a choir continue when locked out of their auditorium and staying at home?

The choir's fully embraced our online rehearsals.

We've been busy singing during Covid, completing compilation videos and audio tracks. Each singer makes their own video/audio and our very kind, in-house online editor compiles the finished product. She's very clever! Check it out.

to advise you will be attending, we are restricted in number by COVID19 guidelines

Because the activity of singing is dynamic in the spread of COVID19 we're keeping a close watch on information from The Australian National Choral Association and other avenues.   We have been rehearsing under COVID safe guidelines at venues in Queensland because of the current 5 singer restrictions in NSW.  These vary from week to week due to heavy demand for halls in Queensland.  We will return to the Tweed Heads Civic Centre as soon as we are allowed.

In normal times we meet:
Wednesdays 6:00pm QLD time for 6.30 pm start
(7:00 pm DST NSW for 7:30 pm start)

Tweed Heads Civic Centre Auditorium
Cnr Wharf & Brett Sts, Tweed Heads NSW 2485

Interested singers can Join us for the vocal craft session at the beginning of the night, then take a seat and observe our rehearsals.  You'll have access to a music book to follow along. Our Membership officer will give you information on our Open Nights when we take in new members, the cost of joining, etc.
